The 14th Emir of Kano of the Fulani Sullubawa clan was Muhammad Sanusi II (Sanusi Lamido Sanusi; born 31 July 1961). In 2014, after the death of his great uncle Ado Bayero, he ascended the throne. He was deposed by Governor Abdullahi Ganduje on 9 March 2020.
