The AFL has confirmed that this year’s grand final will be held on September 25 in Perth. Premier Mark McGowan of Western Australia called it a “historic occasion for our state,” but added that it was “tempered by the fact that our brothers and sisters in Victoria are going through a very difficult period.”

The ACT has documented 13 new coronavirus cases overnight, with each infected individual infecting on average less than one new person, however the lockdown will be prolonged until September 17.
