Ahmadu Bello Sardaunan of Sokoto competent leadership

The problem of good leadership may be a way of serving the needs of the people who elected political leaders to positions of power where they believe the essence and firmness of the leader to bring about a meaningful change that could better the lives of his people through policies that cut through the lives of every community in society.

The papers argued that Ahmadu Bello Sardaunan of Sokoto demonstrated a competent leadership style that first elevated the Northern Region to compete with other regions in terms of economic growth and political importance during the First Republic of the 1960s under the parliamentary system of government amid the so-called challenges of tribalism and nepotism.

Its administration has articulated the ideals of patriotism, commitment, nation building and unification of Nigeria as one country. The paper recommended that contemporary politicians today learn politics of patriotism, dedication and effective service to the people, so that democracy might respond to the peoples’ government name.
