A 30-year-old man has been charged with stealing for allegedly luring a mobile phone dealer two iPhone Promax.
The stolen mobile phones have an actual value of GHS 15,000.
Kwesi Ofori Nyantreh was tracked by way of his GPS location on the mobile phones and was nabbed at Ablekumah.
He appeared before an Accra circuit court presided over by Ms. Evelyn Asamoah who granted him a bail of about GHS 70,000 with two sureties to be justified.
According to prosecution, on October 9, this year, the accused told the complainant that his boss who was a police officer needed an iPhone Promax to buy.
He drove the complainant in his car all the way from Kwame Nkruma circle to the National Police Headquarters.
Prosecution said, the accused told the complainant to wait at the reception of the Public Affairs Directorate under the pretence of showing the phones to his boss and escaped through the backdoor.
The accused denied the offence in his caution statement.
The prosecuting Chief Inspector Emmanuel Haligah has not opposed the bail but urged the court to set out conditions that would compel the accused to show up in court.
The court has been adjourned to November 11, 2020
